nothing is converting to pdf file format

I cannot seem to get any documents to convert to pdf.

I have XP pro and word 2002. I have tried the following conversions.

saved HTML documents, word documents, clipboard coversions.

I get a message that the operation failed.

I have noticed that Mcafee informs be that a script has been detected running on the system.

I have allowed the scripts to run yet nothing happens no document gets created.
