Although it is possible to program the Driver to synchronize your print job (intercept Driver messages), I will still suggest you to use PDF Server. The convesion APIs (COM) are very easy to work with, and take care the job synchronization.

PDF Driver is multi-threaded. You can fire multiple print jobs simulitaneously, but you have no control of which job should be completed first.
